Prospective candidates for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) were reported to have stormed the Lagos office of National Identity Management Commission, (NIMC) in a bid to get their National Identification Number (NIN) before the commencement of JAMB Registration.
It was gathered that the students were seen as early as 7 am in large numbers outside the Lagos State Enrolment Centres of NIMC office at 1b Obafemi Awolowo Way, Alausa Ikeja.
Recall that JAMB made it mandatory that all prospective candidates for the 2020 UTME/DE must obtain National Identification Numbers before they can register for the examination
The Acting-Director-General of National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Hadiza Dagabana, applauded the development stating that it would help to stop impersonation and other forms of malpractices.
According to her, registration for NIN had already started at the Primary School level of education across the country.
